Campaigners are due to call on MSPs to back their drive for a drug used to treat cancer being made more readily available on the NHS.
Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) has also been used by sufferers to treat HIV/Aids, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and multiple sclerosis.
But many GPs are reluctant to prescribe it because of a lack of clinical
trials.

Cancer drug access

The barriers that patients
face getting a cancer-treating drug on the NHS is a "public scandal",
MSPs heard.
Many GPs are reluctant to prescribe Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) because it
remains unlicensed in the
Celia Danks, 58, told the petitions committee LDN helped her overcome lung
cancer, adding: "I think it's a public scandal it's not
investigated."
